Early Intervention Speech Therapy

Early intervention evaluations give parents clear answers about their child’s communication and development. At Let’s Talk Speech and Language Therapy, our licensed speech-language pathologists use evidence-based tools to assess receptive language (understanding), expressive language (speaking), and cognitive skills that affect communication.

With more than 20 years of experience, Jill Dews, M.A., CCC-SLP, leads our team in helping families identify strengths, uncover challenges, and create a plan for support. These evaluations provide peace of mind and ensure children get the right help during the most important years of growth.

Every evaluation begins with a conversation. Our speech-language pathologists meets with you to learn about your child’s development, routines, and concerns. This helps us see the full picture before testing. We then use play-based activities, observation, and standardized tools to evaluate your child’s communication in three main areas:

• Receptive language – how your child understands words, directions, and questions
• Expressive language – how your child uses words, phrases, and sentences to communicate
• Cognitive screening – abilities such as attention, memory, and problem-solving that support communication

When the evaluation is complete, we provide clear results and recommendations. Parents leave with answers, reassurance, and a personalized plan that may include therapy goals or strategies to try at home.
